The case of secondary education minister K Parthasarathy indicted in a ED case is getting curious day by day .
Even as he was sentenced by the ED court the minister faced the wrath of the election commission for hiding his ED case in the election affidavits of 2004 and 2009.
The probe by the Election Commission authorities against minister Parthasarathy for alleged suppression of a case of violation of foreign exchange rules in his election affidavit in the Assembly election is complete now .
Parthasarathy has already been convicted by the ED court to undergo imprisonment for two months and also a fine of Rs.5.15 lakhs for violation of FERA as managing director of Hyderabad-based KRR Tele Products Limited,
According to election law, Parthasarathi could be disqualified or be sentenced to six months’ imprisonment or both, the Election Commissioner HS Brahma told reporters at Delhi .
A local court fined him in the FERA violation case in which Minister Parthasarathy did not pay the money and was sentenced to imprisonment for two months.
Though he challenged the verdict in a higher court , the ED court verdict was endorsed again . Meanwhile the poll panel launched a probe with regard to his suppression of the fact o in his election nomination affidavit in 2004 and 2009 general elections,
The Penamuluru returning officer had submitted his report to the Krishna district collector who in turn, recommended action to the chief electoral officer Sri Bhanwar Lal and the matter is before the Chief Election Commissioner to act accordingly .
