Telugu Desam Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu demanded state and central governments to confiscate the stashed away money from tainted politicians and TDP would fight on this issue if they failed to do so. While interacting with party leaders and activists for over three hours in Kuppam on Sunday, he requested them to reach out to public explaining about the perils that cause by corruption. Addressing the party cadre, he said, he could not forget the affection of Kuppam people as he was being elected from here since 1989 as legislator.

He said that he thought of making this constituency as role model for others and tried his level best to develop it in all aspects. Apart from this constituency, he had brought economic strength to entire state, but unfortunately all development activities were halted after Congress captured power in 2004, he said.

He has found change in the mindset of the people and TDP local cadre should approach people through vigorous campaigns, he suggested. “Due to the incapability of Congress government, our state is facing acute shortage of power, which was sufficient during TDP’s regime.

Of course, power problem is common to all states, our neighbouring states like Tamil Nadu and Karnataka could however manage significantly,” he added. State government was neglecting the welfare and development activities in the state and many villages are in the grip of severe drought, he said. None of the common people are happy with the hike in prices of essential commodities and power charges, he pointed.

Again the state government is trying to put the financial burden on the people in the name of adjustment of power charges, he said.

TDP had brought several economic reforms for the betterment of livelihood of common people during its nine years rule, but all those were being neglected by the present Congress government, he described.

He appealed to local cadre to reach people and explain them about how corruption is an obstacle to development.

Unless people involve in serious fight against corruption, their future won’t be brightened and it will only possible with active participation of huge masses, he said.

Dr Manmohan Singh was the weakest ever Prime Minister of the country since independence and the recent scam in coal mines is the best example for his inefficiency, Naidu said.

Of course, as an individual, Manmohan Singh might be sincere and good but his coterie was acting like vultures, he commented. The inefficiency of PM has become a sin to the nation, he said. Few months ago 2G Spectrum allocations was the ever biggest scam in the country, but coal scam surpassed it now, he pointed out.

Incidentally, coal ministry was being held by the Prime Minister and nobody could accept his innocence, Naidu said.

Who gave the right to Congress government and leaders to loot public money, he asked. Many Congress leaders were looting the public wealth, he pointed out. Congress was claiming fee reimbursement scheme was its brain child but TDP had introduced this scheme in 2003, he said.
