Telugu Desam Party Chief N Chandrababu Naidu has criticised the government for not releasing water to the needs of the farmers of Krishna Delta.
Speaking to media persons at Gannavaram airport on way to West Godavari tour on Wednesday, Chandrababu Naidu said that the policies of the Congress Party were the main reason for the present situation in Krishna Delta.
He recalled that then Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy had issued the government orders on water issues against the Krishna delta. He said that the TDP would stand by the farmer's and fight for the release water to Krishna Delta.
Telugu Desam Party paid rich tributes to party senior leader and former minister Kalidindi Ramachandra Raju at Peddapulleru village of Undi mandal in West Godavari district on Wednesday. Recalling his association with Kalidindi, Chandrababu said the departed leader was known for his values in politics.
Sri Chandrababu Naidu said Raju got elected from Undi five times to the Assembly ever since the TDP formation in 1982 and extended valuable services to the people of his constituency. His absence was hard to digest, he said. Chandrababu consoled the bereaved family members.
Later, the TDP chief went to a private hospital in town where freedom-fighter and former minister Chintalapati Varaprasada Murthiraju was getting treatment. He enquired about his health. TDP vice-president Maganti Babu, TDP district unit president Sitaramalakshmi and others accompanied him.
