The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) BC Cell has demanded the State Government to withdraw the plans to ask the students to bear the increase in tuition fee.

The TDP BC Cell district president Veranki Venkata Gurumurthy said that the fee in engineering colleges were likely to be hiked between 40 per cent and 150 per cent.

The students would be left in the lurch if they were asked to bear the hike in fee. Former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy promised the BCs that the government would bear the tuition fee. Now, the government was going back on promises made by their chief minister.
