Party Politburo member K. Yerran Naidu told reporters here on Sunday that while people were suffering, chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy was busy picnicking and playing cricket in the name of Indiramma Bata.
He appealed to the government to send an all-party delegation to Delhi to urge Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to come to the rescue of the state which is reeling under severe power crisis. He also demanded that an all-party meeting be held to finalise an action plan to overcome the crisis. He alleged that the Kiran government had failed to anticipate the crisis.
The TDP leader claimed that Naidu had ushered in reforms in the power sector and the state had surplus power during the TDP's rule.
The Telugu Desam plans to organise demonstrations in Assembly constituencies for three days from July 16 to protest against government's alleged indifference to the power crisis.
