Protesting against unscheduled power cuts, Telugu Desam Party leaders and activists staged a novel protest by taking out a funeral procession of non working and defunct water motors. Later, the agitators stormed the AP Transco sub-station in Nellorepalem on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, TDP district president Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy alleged that government was imposing unscheduled power cuts causing farmers suicides in state. He said that government would face retribution as farmers are eking out an apathetic life with the unscheduled power cuts.

Chadramohan Reddy demanded government to step down from power as it failed on all fronts. While essential commodities skyrocketed all time high and farmers facing unprecedented problems, government was in apathetic condition, he lamented.
