TDP politburo member and former speaker Yanamala Ramakrishnudu has demanded a financial emergency to set right the deteriorating agricultural, power, irrigation and infrastructure sectors in the state.
In a statement issued at the NTR Bhavan the TDP leader urged the centre to issue the order under article 360, 360(3)and said the state had already slided enough to undergo wages and means advances for Rs.1500 crore during 2012-13 as agaisntg Rs.1000 in 2011-12 and Rs.216 crore in 2010-11.
Sri Ramakrishnudu said the serial corrupt deeds of YSR regime which were still unplugged had led to the present predicament of the Kiran Government adding that though revenue had gone up by Rs.66,000 crore, the burden of debts has also shot up to Rs.63,000 crore. Both the debts and tax burden on common man had increased to Rs.1.16 lakh crore, he added.
He said the GSDP has come down to three percent while the unemployment rate had gone up by 9 to 10 percent. It is a shame that AP has failed to attract even Rs.6 lakh crore investments (the figure too is cooked up) as against Rs.28 lakh crores of Gujarat, Rs.25 lakh crore of Karnataka, Rs.15 lakh crore of Tamil Nadu." All these show what the eight years of YSR and Congress regime had done to the state.
He demanded the finance department to introduce 16 austerity measures to bring down wasteful expenditure in Government and also take corrective measures to stall the down slide of the state economy.
