Telugu Desam Party legislators and district leaders convened an intra-party meeting and gave training to ward level leaders and cadre over the arrangements for the ensuing by-poll.
TDP has been holding meetings with ward and town level committees regularly to pac- ify the indifferences among the cadre to bring out collective cooperation. The district committee held a meeting with ward level committees and chalked out the strategies for by-poll here on Monday.
TDP MLA Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy appealied to the cadre to work united irrespective of the differences with the goal to win the Tirupati constituency. “Earlier, TDP chief has taken unanimous decisions on several issues, but, later he realised with the results and sought collective opinion.
The decision may be correct, but discussion with lower level leaders and cadre will always give fruitful results,” he added. It is the time to build up the party from grassroots level, and it is possible only with the ward level committees, he said. Gopalakrishna Reddy said not only the fate of the chief minister, but also that of the Congress party is bad.
Chittoor MP Dr Siva Prasad said the future of the party is in the hands of village and ward level committees. If the lower committees function with commitment the party will be strong and capable to capture power, he added. TDP chief never depended on faith and astrology alone, instead he came on to the roads with various issues, he said. The recent fasting and ‘Pada Yatras’ are the best examples, he pointed.
