Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday said his party would include the issue of controlling liquor sales through ban on belt (unauthorised) shops in its manifesto for the next elections.
He would ban belt shops by signing it as the second file after waiver of crop loans, if voted to power, Naidu vowed speaking at a meeting on controlling sale of liquor. Women had become the worst sufferers due to belt shops as availability of liquor in every nook and corner had an adverse impact on their families’ economy.

During his brief interaction with the media, Naidu said that he offered prayers to Lord Hanuman seeking social good and welfare of the weaker sections.

A team of the Telugu Desam Party’s Vijayawada urban unit visited social welfare hostels to assess the facilities provided to inmates in view of the re-opening of schools on June 12.
The team, led by party’s urban unit vice-president L. Sairam Prasad Gowd, in a letter to the district Collector, has represented the cause of the hostel students.

TDP leader and leader of opposition in AP council Yanamala Ramakrishnudu has slammed the state Jail department for for allowing YSRC president and tainted Kadapa MP to sun his ' political activity ' from Chanchalaguda jail.
In a nine page letter to the DG of prisons the TDP leader said that his presentation of facts were was in contravention to reality and statistics supplied by the Jail superintendent in response to a RTI query .
