Telugu Desam Polit Bureau member Yanamala Ramakrishnudu has accused YSR Congress Party honorary president Y.S. Vijayamma of trying to generate sympathy over the arrest of party president Jaganmohan Reddy and said it was her responsibility to explain to the people on how her son earned nearly Rs.1 lakh crore.
Addressing a press conference at Visakhapatnam, Ramakrishnudu said Rajasekhara Reddy was financially bankrupt before he became Chief Minister in 2004. Jagan's assets went on increasing manifold with the floating of new companies and as per their estimates he had amassed assets and valuables worth Rs.1 lakh crore.

Mopidevi joins other VIPs in prison
For the first time since his arrest last week in the disproportionate assets case against Kadapa MP Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy, former Excise Minister Mopidevi Venkataramana was remanded to judicial custody till June 7 by the Principal Special Judge of the CBI Court, A. Pullaiah, here on Wednesday.
Having earlier held the Infrastructure and Investments portfolio in the late Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy's Cabinet, he is under the scanner for being a party to the issue of Government Orders paving the way for allocation of thousands of acres of land for the Vodarevu and Nizampatnam Ports Industrial Corridor (VANPIC).

TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu appealed to the voters not to get carried away by the ‘mother sentiment' being allegedly played by YSRC Congress leader Y.S. Vijayamma over the arrest of her son Jaganmohan Reddy by the CBI. Undeterred by the scorching mid-summer heat, Mr. Naidu addressed a series of public gatherings at Komatitippa, Neetitippa, Jagannadhapuram, Kalipatnam and Narsapur as part of campaigning for his party candidate Chinamilli Satyanarayana on Wednesday.

Who is Jagan Mohan Reddy?
From a small-time district level political worker , businessman and to a formidable political leader, YS Jaganmohan Reddy - better known as Jagan - had a rather smooth ride for over a decade before hitting one bump after another and finally finding himself in the Chanchalaguda jail and Central Bureau of Investigation's (CBI) custody.
The only son of late Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Rajasekhara Reddy, Jagan began his business career in 1999-2000 by establishing a tiny hydel power company Sandur in Neighboring Karnataka and then expanding it to the north-eastern states and also a project in Nizamanad.

The Telugu Desam Party has stated that a bandh will be observed on May 31 in protest against the steep increase in the price of petrol. Addressing a press conference at Vijayawada on Tuesday, Mylavaram MLA and TDP district secretary Devineni Umamaheswara Rao said 18 political parties across the nation had given a call for Bharat bandh. In response to the call, the TDP would observe bandh in the State, he said.
